Steer Pool, 2012 Selection Day Results

Once again selection day came and went without a hitch.  Thanks to Dave Felumlee of Claylick Run Farms for hosting the event again this year.  We were able to have the selection inside his sale barn due to the cool damp weather ahead of super storm Sandy.

The Angus steers this year were from 8 different farms with half of them coming from Wayview Cattle Co.

The day began at 9am with the steers arriving, followed by committee members weighing and numbering each one with hip tags prior to selection.  Thanks to Dr. Kreuger of Mount Vernon Animal Hospital for checking each animal and for providing the neccessary vaccinations.

The exhibitors arrived at 12:30 with selection beginning at 1:00.

A Big Thanks goes out to the Licking County Cattleman for grilling hamburgers and providing lunch.

The first pick went to Taylor Tolley.

A total of 37 exhibitors selected calves this year.

Following selection the steers were placed back in the chute and ear tagged with corresponding selection number.  The steers were then allowed to go home with the exhibitors.  Aug 2013 is show time!!

Attached is the listing of individual picks for 2012.
